Shooting a short... With all of you?

This is exactly why PMs are not a good idea. I have made it pretty clear that the payment deadline is 02-Jul-05. Every member that would have paid by then would have been included in the film and received due credit for their work. Since I have received neither a payment nor heard anything from you the job has now gone to the second choice. Why did you send a PM to the director instead of publicly voicing your (valid) concerns?

However, should the second choice be unavailable I am happy to hand the job back to you. Bear in mind though that you would have to pay ?75 as well as be able to knock together a score until the 17th July 2005 latest (to give the editor time to put it all together).

I would prefer to meet and hammer out a rough draft of the music with whoever is willing to contribute the score.

Having just finished a degree and struggling to find a job, the bank is no longer willing to give me money out (strange that), so if you'd like to offer the job back to Vlad it would probably be easier for you.

I would gladly do a score for you and receive no credit, to be honest I would like to provide an alternative anyway, but apologise for being poor.

What sort of sound/score are you aiming for?

Vlad, if you still want to participate then please let me know and pay ?75 either by paypal to assyrix AT cheerful.com or hand it to me personally (I am based in London) by 08-Jul-05. In return I will send or hand you a rough edit of the film.

The kind of music is more or less up to you (hence the fee) but bear in mind the tight deadline (so complex arrangements might be out of the question) and that it's a tragic story.

I am willing to attempt the score in the short time, obviously we will have to keep to a small arrangement as you said to get it done in time.

I will send the paypal shortly so please get the rough edit to me asap. As I am based in the North West of England I would rather you post it and if you want to discuss ideas or any other inspiration then you can communicate through email - [CHECK PM] or you can request my phone number.

If you do wish to meet in person I am afraid the only days I can get down to London are Sun - Tues so I would prefer to do this via mail.

Thank you for your contribution which I have duly received. I will rustle together an XviD compressed rough cut of the whole film together with title and dialogue. Should you have access to a few hundred megs of webspace I could FTP it to you as well. Else I got your PM with your address and will ship a CD there. Let me know when you are in London the next time so we can meet up.

I got back the footage from the posthouse today and they have captured all the widescreen footage in 4:3. Great. What is the best way to convert it to 16:9? I would prefer a VirtualDub/AviSynth solution or similar instead of having to put the entire footage through the Avid.

Vlad, I have posted you a rough cut today. No intro or credits and the aspect ratio is all wrong but I couldn't do better in the short time (computer quirks and terror attacks didn't help either). It's encoded in XviD and I have packed the latest codec on CD as well.

Please allow 30 seconds for the intro and again 30 seconds for the credits. Both will be simple white letters faded in and out on a black background, no fancy effects.
